Glow Plug Light

my car diesel TDi 1999,, after fitting new engine coolant temperature sensor i have notice the glow plug light takes a lot longer to go out (15 seconds) hot or cold engine,, use to take 1-2 seconds, can anyone help.............

15 secs means the ecu thinks its 20 below freezing!

 

Something obviously wrong either with the wiring or connector. Or the temperature sensor is kaput or incorrect type.
